Below are the questions submitted to the OpenCape Corporation with regard to RFP OC-01 and OC-02 as of 03/14/08:
RFP RESPONSE EXTENDED. Submissions will be accepted until April 4, 2008.
1. If the determination is made for the 200mb to terminate at the “high site” ingress, egress point, shall the hand off be made with Ethernet?
Ans. In most cases the handoff from the tower radio will be through Ethernet.
2. What will be the minimum bandwidth requirement for OpenCape?
Ans. 200Mbps
3. Has there been a maximum cap addressed?
Ans. The radios under consideration are limited to 300Mbps
4. Will there be video traversing the network?
Ans. Yes
5. What is the longest path?
Ans. Approximately 21 Miles
6. Has LOS (line of sight) already been determined?
Ans. Yes
7. Will there be indoor climate controlled rack space provided at each site?
Ans. Not in all cases. AC may not be available.
8. Will the awarding of the engineering RFP have any impact on future RFPs?
Ans. No.
9. There appears to be a need to describe the service model. What are your expectations in this regard?
Ans. We fully expect any responding vendor to include a discovery period of discussion and education with the OpenCape Corporation to solidify and describe a service model of switching, routing, security, segregation, etc. based on the company's business plan and the radio network.
10. Which vendor was selected to install the "Proof of Concept" portion of the network from Woods Hole to UMass Dartmouth?
Ans. Direct Network Services (DNS)
